Dear Members,
We were shocked and saddened by the shootings an murders at the LGBT Centre in Tel Aviv. Our first article is the response from our friends Anat Hoffman of IRAC and Rabbi Gilad Kariv of the Israeli Movement for Progressive Judaism. We are proud that these movements we support are at the forefront of campaigning for rights of all minorities and all those who face discrimination. It's another reminder of why progressive Judaism in Israel is not a threat to Israeli society, nor a luxury, but a necessity.
Our second article is about the rally in Tel Aviv to protest the deportation of migrants and specifically the children of migrant workers, born in Israel. The protests and again the work of Irac has been successful but the stay of deportation is only temporary.
Finally we include a superb article by Michael Marmur on Pluralism and a recent educational conference he attended on pluralist education. It's shocking to hear of the ignorance of the issues in Israel but positive to know that people from all sides of the religious spectrum are willing to work together.
